A past-president of the AAAAI, Dr. Sampson made the Guidelines one of his presidential initiatives, chaired a sub-panel and served in continuance the Coordinating Committee overseeing their development.
Development of the Guidelines was a collaborative striving, led by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). More than 30 professional organizations representing diverse clinical backgrounds, treaty agencies and patient advocacy groups were whole involved in the procedure.
