Research in the Clinical and Experimental Allergy journal suggests that the conversion to an act of paracetamol for infants may be linked to the development of allergies and asthma later on.
Dr Elaine Vickers, Research Relations Manager at Asthma UK says: ‘Several studies from encompassing the nature take suggested in that place may be a link betwixt giving children paracetamol and an augment in their expose to danger of asthma and other allergic stipulations. However, they have not established that paracetamol causes asthma.
‘We know that paracetamol is a safe and effective treatment conducive to pain and fever if given according to the manufacturer’s directions and at this stage we believe the benefits of using paracetamol very much outweigh the potential risks.’
